🎗 🕯 I'm thrilled to share that I've recently completed comprehensive training with Amnesty International USA in DC, alongside incredibly dedicated and passionate individuals and activists. This training session brought together the new cohort of Country Specialists and Thematic Specialists, preparing us to take on our roles and contribute to such a vital cause. I'm especially excited to announce that I and the amazing ANTONIO ISUPERIO will be responsible for covering human rights in Brazil and working together to bring international attention to pressing human rights issues in our country and push for more progressive policies and actions.During the training, I had the pleasure of connecting with colleagues who will be handling responsibilities across Latin America and other regions around the globe. It was exciting to learn about AIUSA's approach and see the collective commitment to human rights from so many perspectives! ✨✨✨ Meeting all these amazing, inspiring people and hearing their stories has been the highlight, and I look forward to collaborating with them as we move forward. Many thanks to @Amanda Armstrong and Gabriella Flores for organizing and making the training run smoothly. Thanks also to Debbie Sharnak, Claudia Concha, Cara Hume, Kleber Naula, Vanessa Sarmiento, Amira C., Vibha Venkatesha, and many others for sharing their knowledge so generously, and for the camaraderie and fun during the training. I'm eager to start this journey and make a difference together!#AmnestyInternational #AmnestyInternationalUSA #HumanRights

This post is to express my heartfelt appreciation for Upwardly Global, which has been a game-changer in my professional transition to the U.S. Through their program, I connected with my career coach, Kahlil Bagatsing, who has been an incredible source of guidance.📊 Important Statistics to Know-> A majority of recent U.S. immigrants and refugees are highly educated.-> 45% of these individuals have at least a bachelor's degree.-> However, over 2 million qualified immigrants and refugees encounter systemic barriers leading to unemployment or underemployment.🛠️ How Upwardly Global Makes a DifferenceUpGlo is dedicated to removing employment barriers for skilled immigrants and refugees in the U.S. They provide no-cost career coaching, training, and connections to a wide network of employer partners, creating access to job opportunities that might otherwise be inaccessible.Through UpGlo, I had training in resume building, cover letter writing, networking, and interview skills. Additionally, I was exposed to diverse industry partnerships, including those with LinkedIn, Remitly, Accenture, and UBS, which provided me with a broader perspective on the professional landscape.🤝 Thanks to My Career CoachI owe a special thanks to my career coach, Kahlil Bagatsing. Being a newcomer immigrant in the US, I do not yet have a professional network to reach out to. It's been months of playing by the book with the rules of job searching (customizing resumes and cover letters, messaging recruiters) and receiving no replies. And with no replies comes guilt and the thought, "I am ruining my career by being stuck and unemployed".One day, I stumbled upon a newsletter from Resume Worded - Career Supplement by Rohan. The title, “Your career is probably not going to grow the way you think it will,” resonated instantly. Reading about experiences of non-linear careers and breakouts helped me see this moment of life transition differently.Accompanying this post, you'll find a graph from Rohan’s newsletter, illustrating how a great career might look.I find myself in that lower valley, “build a professional network”. Instead of “being stuck”, I have acknowledged all the changes that come with moving to another country. I realized I am not putting my career on indefinite pause (never intended to!) as I make my way in this new beginning.Every change comes with great uncertainties. It requires patience and resilience to get to the other side. It might take time, and you'll find the answers only after you start walking the path, but it's always worth it. So, after a valley, and a pause, I start climbing again looking for this career “breakout”.Also, it is always good to remember the advice of Dory, the great thinker of the sea: “Just keep swimming”.--------If you've navigated troubled currents and found your breakout, I'd love to hear your story. Let's connect and share insights—your experiences and advice could provide valuable guidance.-----Happy New Year to all who are charting their courses!

The fight for gender equality and inclusion in the labor market goes beyond the boundaries of the office, extending to our homes. The necessary changes require a close look at parental leave policies and return to work, and that's exactly what liBertha sets out to do.👏The professional journey for us women can be full of obstacles, but it's heartening to know that we can count on each other - and empathetic men - to overcome them. That's why I've joined liBertha as a volunteer on the advocacy team! Let's go together on this journey, challenging norms and encouraging true gender equality at work and beyond!💪#labormarket #career #parentalleave #inclusion #diversity #genderequalityhttps://lnkd.in/gPNgkRv4
