DraftKings Cash Game Plays
These will typically be a pair of the projected higher owned players that you can play with confidence in Double Ups and 50/50 contests.
P Justin Verlander | DraftKings Salary $8,600 | FC Projection 18.38
This slate has a number of solid pitching options with no real “chalk option” and a handful of hurlers projecting to be in the 20% ownership range. Verlander stands out to me the most though when weighing his salary and median projection. He’s been pretty boom or bust with 2 putrid starts sandwiched between a monster 32 DraftKings point outing against the Tigers. The Astros matchup with the Athletics who are 28th out of 30 teams in strikeouts per game averaging 9.67 per outing and Verlander should be able to take advantage of the matchup and can function as your SP1 or SP2 Friday night.
1B Dominic Smith | DraftKings Salary $2,300 | FC Projection 6.74
Smith is the prime candidate for the de facto “flyer of the day” that this hitter highlight section has turned into being priced at just $300 above the minimums salary on DraftKings. Smith gets a matchup with Brewers pitcher Bryse Wilson who outside of a pair of starts has been nothing special throughout the season hence his $6.6K price tag on DraftKings for Friday evening’s slate. Smith fits that bill where a goose egg doesn’t kill you and he allows you to get to expensive bats or pay up at pitching with anything he can contribute offensively almost functioning as a bonus.
